1935 -
کمتر کسی ست که حداقل کتاب (ارابه خدایان) این نویسنده مشهور را نخوانده باشد..
Born April 14, 1935 in Zofingen,
Switzerland, Erich Von Daniken was raised as a strict Catholic and attended the
Catholic School Saint-Michel in Fribourg. However, he never finished his
education. Erich was apprenticed at a Swiss hotel at the age of 19.
While working there, he began to write his
first book, but he felt that he needed to see the sites about which he was
writing, so he used 400,000 Swiss francs from the hotel to finance his travels
to Egypt, Lebanon and North and South America. His first book entitled
Chariots of the Gods?, was about Erich’s theories that the "chariots" were
actually flying saucers belonging to extraterrestrials.
Erich felt that the Bible was full of
references to flying saucers and that the God referred to in the Bible were
alien beings. Chariots of the Gods? was all about his alien theories. In
his book, he quoted parts of the Bible, although some of these were not
correctly quoted. This book was published in 1967, about the same time his trial
for embezzlement ended. The publicity of the trial was good for book sales. His
first book was later made into a movie in the United States.
He traveled to some of the important
archaeological and anthropological sites around the world. While he was there,
he studied the sites to try to prove that alien beings were the source of them.
He has written a total of nine books thus far on the subject of alien beings as
the source of many of our historical sites.
One of his theories involved the Ark of the
Covenant. In his book, Signs of the Gods, he questions what kind of
object the ark really was. He points out that theologians not only disagree on
the measurements of the ark, but also as to what it was used for. Erich suggests
that the Ark of the Covenant was actually a container to hold a machine given to
Moses by aliens. He further suggests that the machine stored up water from the
night dew, then green algae (chlorella) was added, and manna came out of the
machine. The reaction for forming the manna was radiation. He says that this
machine was a miniature nuclear reactor.
This is just one of his theories. He has
many more which include subjects like the statues of Easter Island, Piri Re’is
map, the Nazca lines, the Great Pyramids, the moons of Mars, Ezekiel’s vision,
and gold filled caves in South America. These are covered in his other eight
books.
From what you have seen so far, you may be
wondering why this man is so popular. Well, the answer is that he published his
book about the same time people were questioning whether there really is a God
or gods. Also, there are many people who believe in alien life. There are many
famous people such as Carl Sagan and Ronald Story, who do believe in the
possibility of alien life. However, they do not support the theories of Erich
Von Daniken. In fact, they have publicly opposed his views. Ronald Story wrote
at least two books arguing against Erich’s theories.
Robert Sheaffer's article "Erich Von
Daniken’s ‘Chariots of the Gods?’: Science
or Charlatanism" claims that Von Daniken’s whole book is based on inaccuracies
and half truths. He attempts to disprove Von Daniken’s evidence and reasoning
piece by piece.
Erich Von Daniken is the author of a number
of books including
Chariots of the Gods?
The Gold of the Gods
Gods from Outer Space
The Eyes of the Sphinx
Return to the Stars
